Getting an annual or bi-annual examination by an optometrist or ophthalmologist prevents eye disease. At Hendrix Vision, you’ll be assessed for visual acuity by reading letters or numbers on a wall. Next, you’ll receive dilation and a complete eye exam for diseases like cataracts, glaucoma or macular degeneration. You can also protect your eyes throughout the year by eating foods with antioxidants and Omega 3 fatty acids, wearing sunglasses to protect eyes from UV rays, and wearing goggles during tasks or jobs that may endanger eye.
